Planning an upcoming yardsale? Not only do you have to get everything ready to sell, but you need to get the word out in a timely manner. You need buyers for your sale and as much traffic as you can get. You want to avoid waiting until the last minute to advertise otherwise you will forfeit big dollars.

Yardsalesz.com was designed to help you advertise your sale effectively and save you money. Let's face it, advertising is expensive, but it doesn't have to be! Recently, a friend told me he had to run down to the Pennysaver to place a yard sale ad. When he returned, he said "They charged me $7.95." My jaw dropped. Thinking to myself, here is a publication that is going to put this man's sale in print, deliver it 2 days before the event and charging him basically $8. They are not even going to put it on the Internet AND the distribution is not even County wide! Simply outrageous.

I told him I would place it on Craigslist for him to help him get some more exposure. I placed his ad and browsed the list of sales that he would be competing with. What a mess, I thought. You have to click every ad to find out when the sale is, where it is going to be, what time, what is for sale etc. To me, it was a waste of time. OK, so it's free.... and a lot of people use it. But how effective is it really?

So I built Yardsalesz.com, an easy to navigate, low budget website, specifically for advertising yard sales. Certainly, it can be more glamorous, full of bells and whistles, and animated grafics, but that would restrict the effectiveness that it has in it's current form.

If you're having a yard sale, take a couple minutes to post your ad here now. You just never know who is going to see that ad and buy that hard to sell item that you are concerned about moving. The more time you have on your ad, the more chances of the right person seeing it.
